System requirements and troubleshooting for e-Form RS

Find the system requirements to install and run e-Form RS and some troubleshooting tips.

Hardware and software requirements

Windows Registry entries and potential problems

When you install and run
e-Form RS
, it creates directories, installs the required prerequisites, and sets up icons on your workstation. If any of these are deleted,
e-Form RS
 won’t work properly.
If you try to uninstall
e-Form RS
 while it's open, it will cause the files to be corrupted. Consider the following
Windows
 Registry Key when you try to solve the problem of corrupted files.
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Deployment\SideBySide\2.0\Components
This Registry Key is used by Microsoft .Net Framework during installation. The information corresponds to files installed in
C:\Documents and Settings\[User]\Application Data\Microsoft\
If you want to move your
e-Form RS
 app files to another location on your system, you will need to have the following
Windows
 Registry Key changed to match the new location.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Deployment\SideBySide\2.0
User preferences and settings are stored in an XML file in the user application cache along with temporary form image files. This path can be changed by adding a registry setting before installing
e-Form RS
 to the workstation.
