Install e-Form RS on a terminal server

Instructions to help IT professionals and IT system administrators install
e-Form RS
 on a terminal server.
The person who takes the following steps should be an IT professional or IT system administrator.
  1. important
    VMWare and actual virtual machines (terminal servers) are the only virtual environments for
    e-Form RS
     that we support, which means:
    • e-Form RS
       has been developed, tested, and designed to run in these environments
    • our support team are trained to utilize
      e-Form RS
       in these environments
    • technical assistance is available for
      e-Form RS
       when it runs in these environments
    Other virtual environments, such as
    Citrix
    , are not supported to run
    e-Form RS
    . Although it may be possible to run
    e-Form RS
     in other environments, its functions and behavior will be unpredictable, won't be guaranteed, and the assistance we can offer will be minimal.
  2. Log in to the terminal server with Administrator rights.
  3. Put the terminal server in Install mode.
  4. Download the
    setup.exe
     file from the
    e-Form RS
     download web page.
  5. important
    When you take the next step to install
    e-Form RS
    , do not create a shortcut on the
    Windows
     Desktop.
  6. Run the
    setup.exe
     file.
  7. Put the terminal server back in Execute mode.
  8. In the All Users profile, create a folder called
    Apps
    .
    Example
    For example,
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Apps
    .
  9. Go to the application cache location for the profile you're currently logged in as. .
    Example
    For example,
    C:\Documents and Settings\[
    your username
    ]\Local Settings\Apps\2.0
  10. Copy the entire
    2.0
     folder.
  11. Go to the
    Apps
     folder that you created for the All Users profile.
  12. Paste the 2.0 folder into the Apps folder for the All Users profile.
    Example
    For example,
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Apps\2.0
  13. Open the
    2.0
     folder in the All User profile.
  14. In the
    2.0
     folder, open the subfolder with a name that consists of 8 random characters, a dot, then 3 random characters.
    Example
    For example,
    ZH1T05EG.T6J
  15. Double-click the subfolder under the folder that has a name that consists of 8 random characters, a dot, then 3 random characters.
  16. Open the subfolder that has a name that starts with
    efor..tion
    .
    Example
    For example:
    efor..tion_2862359f91bb5d39_000b.0000_88a306971dce5d32
  17. Within this folder, publish the
    eformRS.exe
     file for users to access the application.
